Building Better Opportunities – new partnership requirements

Posted 24 April 2015

What is the BBO?

BIG plans to match fund up to £220mn of lottery funding against the Promoting Social Inclusion and Combatting Poverty part of the European Social Fund (ESF) 2014-2020 Programme.

When will the funding be available?

BIG is expecting to launch their first calls for outlines in June 2015. If you are successful at this stage you will be invited to the second stage, where they will ask you to provide more detail.

Funding will be available in most Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs) areas in England. Note that projects will need to meet local priorities as defined by each LEP in their strategies.

Note that most of the funding opportunities that will be available are better suited to partnership working as the bids will be quite large, from around £500,000.

How to get involved?

You will find information relating to BIG’s expectations for lead partners, partnership structures and agreements, management of the funds and delivery in their summary of partnership requirements.

Download the BBO’s summary of their partnership requirements (see under Related Documents)

There are also many free events taking place across England on the BBO Programme, see our website or contact the organisation providing support in your area by clicking on your LEP area

European Funding Survey of the Voluntary Sector in the West of England

Posted 30 March 2015

The application call for the first tranche of a £5.8m West of England employment programme will be made in June 2015. Funded by the European Social Fund and the BIG Lottery (BLF), the purpose of the ‘Removing Barriers to Employment’ programme is to work with those who are furthest from employment and/or face multiple barriers to entering the workplace.

To inform this process the West of England Civil Society Partnership (WoECSP) is carrying out a survey of current provision, existing barriers and apparent gaps in service as well as identifying European funding experience. Quartet Community Foundation has been commissioned to carry out this survey on behalf of the WoECS  Partnership.

The results will be used to shape the voluntary sector funding proposal/s as well as being fed back to the BLF and Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) through whom the funding will be channelled.

Deadline for comments is 17 April 2015
